Romantic weekend away or a sumptuous luxury break?
Escape to this beautiful, idyllic bolt-hole and relish in the 5* service of a first class self-catering cottage with the option of a continental breakfast basket and homemade supper dishes delivered to your door!
Set amongst a 100 acre sheep farm, this special cottage is a perfect location for couples looking to enjoy a discerning escape within the rugged and enthralling beauty of Dartmoor.
The cottage is situated in a unique historical setting, overlooking the central ‘Pound’ of South Harton Farm (where grazing livestock used to rest on their way to and from the common moorland). Surrounded by an idyllic landscape of blossom trees, pristine lawns and hedgerows, guests can easily soak up serenity in all seasons. The 600 year heritage of the farmstead has been lovingly preserved throughout, alongside modern interior enhancements, for an immaculate and authentic 5* stay.
On entering the driveway, guests will notice a striking granite cross which has been re-joined and built into the entrance wall. The cross would have once stood as a guide for medieval pilgrims who were braving the wilds of Dartmoor. History on the farm is still being made, with a restored portcullis door which remains in use today as sheep and cattle are being moved around the farm.
On entering the luxurious retreat, couples will feel immediately at home. The contemporary-style and charming ambiance of the bijou bolt-hole is perfectly complemented by a choice of self catering or B&B service for guest’s maximum comfort.
The cobbles in the entrance hallway reveal an ancient tread, worn over centuries by passing livestock. The whitewashed stone walls and exposed beams also evoke the romanticism of the past, to effortlessly blend in with the contemporary-style interior.
The reverse level cottage offers the sleeping quarters to the ground floor, with a short carpeted staircase leading to a spectacular first floor living and dining room.
